Vandalia Range and Armory: Rifle Range

As many of you know VRA experienced a fire in October at the end of our rifle range. There was damage to our electronic targeting system, and the structure at the end of the range. We have been working around the clock to re-open our range, and it is almost complete. We will have the range re-opened within the next couple of weeks. We are finishing up a few minor details, and getting a final inspection. Once that is complete we will be able to open. Alex will send an e-mail on the exact date once we have everything complete.

A military tracer round was found to be the cause of the fire. This type of ammunition is not to be used on our range. In the future we will need to check everyone’s rifle ammunition before shooting to make sure this sort of event does not take place again. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Vandalia Range and Armory: Products

This time of year is exciting because of all the new products that will be introduced for 2010. Many manufacturers are coming out with new firearms and products that will be exceptional for concealed carry, sport, and/or target shooting. Many of these products will make their way to our shelves throughout the year. We want to make everyone aware of some of the products we have already received.

The increased popularity of the .380 round for concealed carry has prompted many manufacturers to produce new pistols to meet the ever growing demand. The Ruger LCP has been out for about a year, but has been very popular. It’s priced at $329.00 (www.ruger.com). Taurus has introduced its 738 model that is also priced at $329.00 (www.taurus.com). Walther has produced a .380 similar to its popular P22 model called the PK380. It is priced at $369.00 (www.waltheramerica.com). 

Kahr Arms and Sig Sauer introduced their high end .380 pistols. Both are very small, and very concealable. The prices are $639.00, and $599 (This is the base model; prices vary) respectively. You can view both of these firearms online at www.kahr.com and www.sigsauer.com.

Ruger has developed a sub compact version of its popular SR-9 pistol. The SR-9C has a 3.5 inch barrel and comes with an extended 17 round magazine, as well as, a 10 round magazine for concealed carry purposes. The price on this firearm is $469.00 (www.ruger.com).

Glock has started shipping its new Gen 4 models. Thus far, we have only received the Glock 22 model, but more models will be arriving shortly. The new Glock models give you the ability to adjust your handle size, and they also have a new textured grip! The price on the Glock 22 Gen 4 model is $589.00. Prices will vary amongst models. Springfield Armory now has a compact model for its new XDM series. The barrel on this firearm is 3.8 inches, opposed to 4.5 inches on the full size XDM. The handle and magazine capacity remain the same, but the shorter barrel makes it more convenient for concealed carry. The price of this firearm starts at $649 (www.springfieldarmory.com).

H&K has reintroduced its popular Mark 23 model. This firearm will be available in limited production, and may only be reintroduced for a short period of time. The Mark 23 is chambered in .45 ACP, and has been used with only the most elite military units, such as, the Navy Seals. Do not hesitate to buy this firearm because they will be very hard to receive in the future. We currently have one in stock, and the price is $2222.00. After a long wait we have finally received the FNH Scar 5.56 rifles. This AR style rifle has been in very high demand over the past couple of years, and we have been patiently waiting for them to ship. Sig Sauer has a great rebate offer on its 556 rifles from now until March 8, 2010. Purchase any 556 rifle and receive a $300 rebate! Our online catalog can be a convenient way to shop, or help you find the exact product you are looking for.

All firearms and ammunition must be picked up at Vandalia Range and Armory or shipped to an FFL dealer in your state. If you choose to pick the firearm or ammunition up at Vandalia Range and Armory we will waive your shipping cost. If you are buying a firearm or ammunition online and having it shipped we will contact you directly once we have received your order. We will then collect the information needed in order to ship the firearm or ammunition to an FFL dealer in your location.

Please note that due to ever changing prices, our website may not reflect our exact in-store price. In many cases our in-store price is cheaper. If you are an Ohio resident, and are able to pick the product up in our store please call and check the pricing before purchasing online. If you choose to order the product online the price will be as listed.
